Senco And Special Needs Care

At Wise Owl we see all children as equally beautiful.  We support ALL children and recognise that some children need a little extra help.

We have proudly cared for and educated children with many different needs over the years and we are honoured that the local council have recognised this as they now refer many children to us for “short breaks”.  What this means is that we are experienced, and we will do our very best to support your family, whatever the circumstances, and whatever unique needs your child may have.

We have at least 2 fully trained and qualified SENCOs at each setting. Our designated SENCO Officers have undertaken all the training needed to fulfil this role.  Their role is to advise and support colleagues within nursery regarding special needs, ensuring that we serve our children well.  They will also liaise with parents and professional agencies.  Our SENCOs also work with key workers to provide Individual Education Plans (IEP) for any children who need one.  It is also their responsibility to ensure the nursery is up to date with new developments and that the team are fully trained in their knowledge of SEND.
